Cents 20 Year Old Situation:

On the eve of training camp, I thought I’d take a look at the Centennials 20 year old situation.

After F Max Vallis (91) joined the Omaha Lancers of the USHL and D Kameran Crawford (91) asked to be moved and subsequently is trying out with the NAHL’s Wenatchee Wild, the Cents have six 20 year olds on their roster, which is the limit in the BCHL.

Of the 20 year olds, three were recruited from the Princeton Posse prior to last season (Chad Brears, Evan Stack, Billy Marshall), one was recruited after being release from Vernon’s camp back in 2009 (David Sabey) and two were acquired via trade (Lino Chimienti and Steve Wall).

Cents head coach and GM Luke Pierce hasn’t named his captain just yet, despite already having Steve Tresierra pegged with the letter already at this point last year, but you’ve got to think that the 20 year olds on the roster this season will be counted on as leaders whether they have a ‘C’ or ‘A’ on their jersey or not. In fact, Lino Chimienti assumed a big-time leadership role after his acquisition last season and Steve Wall has already served one season as an assistant capatin.

Here’s the skinny on each of the 20 year olds heading into the 2011-12 season.
